You didn't answer his retort to your assertion. Nazis and Communists were not Christian. However, the Pope of that time was a weakling who did little to help the suffering of the Jews. But Jesus never said that the body of believers that later became the Church would be the paragon of purity. The Catholic Church is made up of humans, which by definition means it is full of sinners. Priests are as sinful as laymen and that's a fact. "Not one of you is without sin, no not a one."
