And that quote in DigiTimes could have been misunderstood, or there could have been a translation problem. It might have been 27% of some segment, rather than 27% of all sales.

On the other hand....

A lot of attention is paid to the North American retail market because it is fairly large, and visibility into it is better than into other markets. Nevertheless, the NA retail market is only a small part of the world market, so exactly how well or poorly AMD is doing is still difficult to say.

If the world market this quarter is 40 million, then 27% represents 10.8 million CPUs sold.

I see it as possible though unlikely, though certainly not sustainable unless voodoo witchcraft is utilized.
