You'd think the LEAST the FED's would do would be to make a GED requirement say within 6 months...that would at hopefully eliminate some of the brain-dead slackers.

Also that would give the Feds an good opportunity to be able to emphasize the importance of MINIMAL education, instead we're getting a lesson in union job preservation.

A bit OT from your post on airport screeners not being required to have high school diplomas.

This article provides an interesting into the mindset of the 20somethings who felt they were special and didn't have to play in the job market by the old rules. College educations and/or traditional job skills didn't seem quite as important in 1999 and early 2000. Suddenly, they are being brought back to earth.
