WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Investor Steven Newby lowered his holdings in
U.S.-China Industrial Exchange Inc. (CHDX) to a 14.3% stake, according to an
amended Schedule 13G filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

As of Monday, Newby beneficially owned 121,780 U.S.-China Industrial common
shares.

Newby previously reported owning 168,910 U.S.-China Industrial shares for a
19.4% stake as of Dec. 31, 2000.

A Schedule 13G denotes a passive investment stake in a company. Filers aren't
required to provide a reason for any changes in stake and aren't required to
detail any transactions.

U.S.-China Industrial Exchange sells medical equipment and supplies in China.
