respectfully disagree on energy sector for this year
sure, Russia will practice capitalism
but no nation can afford a price war with Saudis
their production costs are 1/3 of most everyone else
Russia will talk tough, then cut production
only problem is that Russian decisions will come from 4 centers
that is what capitalism dictates
it aint part of any cartel
neither is Norway, but they are toeing the line for now

here are several reasons why the energy sector will heat up later this year:
(maybe just a few months)
- economy is turning up slowly, the world will follow
- crude bottomed at $19/bbl this cycle, compared to $9 in 1991 during GulfWar
- AlQaeda cell agents are now largely disinfected in North America and Europe, obviously not completely, but now their main theatre of influence is the MidEast and WestAsia, where Arab oil exporters undergo operations and some of whom cooperate with the USA
- political and risk pressure will gradually put a premium on NoAmerican produced oil/gas, far from danger several thousand miles away
- Arab oil reserves are only 1/2 what they claim, and word is getting out
- electricity requirements are growing unabated, what with computer usage, internet access, clean room mfg

we will see
