To see if the Athlon XP support, we tossed two of these new processors in Asus's new A7M266-D, which uses AMD's brand new AMD 760MPX chipset. We had already heard from many sources around the net that this motherboard does a CPU check on boot up, and if an Athlon XP CPU is detected, will force single processor operation. We decided to push our luck and see what would happen if we tossed the chips into this board.

Much to our surprise, this is what we see upon boot up. The Athlon XP CPU's are detected as Athlon MP CPU's, and the system boots as a normal multiprocessor system. Success!
