You previously said most Nobelists were Western because the best universities and most access to higher education is in Western countries (and Europe is included in that.)

I didn't say that it excluded Brazil. Brazil caught me by surprise, frankly. Just goes to show that one can keep on learning about the world. Well, at least some of us can continue to learn.

I also said that the Nobel prize in physics was not a proxy for technological innovation. The case with Brazil supports that argument.

I also said that the Nobel prize in physics was not a statistically significant sample and if it was you can look at the last 10 years of your sample period there is a significant decline in prizes awarded to the US. So you can pick your poison. It's either a statistically insignificant sample, or the US is in a State of decline.
