Hi THomas, you are mistaken. It surely does say that in the Qur'an (5:51): "O people, who have brought Faith, do not take the Jews and the Christians as your companions (Auliyâ'), they are only friends to each other. And if anyone among you takes them as a friend (Auliyâ') then his/her count is also among them (he/she is one of them), surely Allâh deprives the cruel (Zâlimûn) from HIS Guidance."
