Just be sure to double check with a raw disk search utility like Diskprobe to see if things really got erased.

These utilities such as east-tec erasor use normal windows file system calls to do the erasing, but it's possible for turds to get left on the disk due to the file system equivalent of memory leaks. I've seen this happen myself.

The Sysinternals site has source code if you're curious about how the erasure is really accomplished.
