Wonderful yet sad article

I've spoken on the phone with people who were swindled by stock promoter Westergaard and his analysts and the accompanying pump and dumpers. They all pretended to be his friend. They used all these same words and techniques. Then the guy lost his entire retirment as the hypesters said that smart investors buy more shares as the price goes down so they can make even more money. He lost it all and was crying on the phone to me stating that he'd rather kill himself that tell his wife he lost it all. Then the guy went missing.

I very often wonder how in the world can these con men do this to people knowing what it will do to them. How can they live with themselves taking advantage of people like this. How can they face their children after they've ripped off a family with children.

I've noticed on the boards that when the scam is up, a lot of people just leave and never talk about it. A few get mad and vent on the boards. Some just say "oh well." I think the ones that say oh well and pretend to have lost a bit also are stock promoters trying to calm people down so there aren't any lawsuits. There are a few on astn now posting "I told you it was a risky deal, only invest what you can afford to lose..." when they'd been telling everyone to buy more on every down tick and even said "you should mortgage your house to buy more shares of astn." Westergaard the stock promoter posted that. Here it is messages.yahoo.com

I spoke with a guy who thinks Westergaard did nothing wrong. He's a old financial analyst journalist. He said the people deserved to lose their money. I asked him why he thought that. He said it was because they were greedy and they deserved to lose their money. He said if they weren't greedy, they wouldn't have bought the shares. I told him that Westergaard told them through his posts that their investments were safe, even said people who keep money in banks are stupid. Westergaard made it seem as safe as a bank with better returns. They weren't greedy. I don't believe it is ever okay to deceive, lie, cheat or steal from people. Obviously con men have no conscience.
