It may indeed be a U shaped recovery but keep in mind that GE is a long cycle company for the most part - perhaps Honeywell is as well I don't know. What this means is that it takes them longer to wind down and longer to warm up so I don't believe they are representative of what happens in the early to mid stage of a recovery. Clearly some companies will benefit more in the beginning and others at the middle point and the end. Specifically, the tech sector, perhaps not including the telecom market, can be considered an early to mid cycle sector.
