If you truly feel that way, then adjust your investment strategy. Sell and wait for a lower price. Buy some puts. If you want to stay long term, then sell some calls against your holdings. If you think we're going sideways for the next year or two or three, you can make good money selling at-the-money calls.

I remember a quote from one of the 'Market Wizards' books.... something like -- don't worry about what the market is going to do, just stay focused on what YOU are going to do when the market does whatever it does.
