No! I called Gestner and asked him personally if he was going to buy Ariba!
Of course its speculation on my part but I'm speculating there will be a lot of consolidation this year in Software.
There's too many public software companies selling software and not enough buyers.
The mature will pick off the young they still feel has promise, and they won't have to pay as much as they would have during the bubble.
Or, they can get buy it this way. Yup, Kleiners CLIC which I bought on its IPO and sold at $70, and everyone at the time thought I was crazy.
The last I looked it was on sale for .17c.
