Thanks, I have been trying to say this for some time and I think you said it a whole lot better. January Effect does not equal January Rally. It relates primarily to the small stocks and starts in October (gets a little earlier each year)and includes a typcial run often labled Santa Claus rally, but usually has a better short term pop after Santa leaves town. It then gives the bears some ammunition for first bragging rights of the year before bulls come out along with earnings later in January.
