Do you go back to work tomorrow? Yes, My enthusiam is waning for my work. It is extremely rare to find a computer program you can work on alone, and claim for yourself, and be the father - ineventor - god of the program. In the 1970s I was the father of several, and I was a poorer father than I wished I were. In the 1980's I had to look for programs to be the father of. I (and about 5 others) invented using credit cards at gas stations in the pump, it was exciting. The opportunities seem to diminish and I don't know if it is because I am getting older and set in my ways or if the easy to think of things have already been invented. I'm now working on an item which the manager claimed was the single most complicated single device ever conceived for mankind. It's like 10 time more complex than the apollo moon project, rockets, radar, tang and all based on some metric of complexity that he presented. It is an amazing number of interconnections and connections grow at an exponential rate. Another year and it should be ready. I do start to feel like I'm pushed to the side. Now I verify the results more than coming up with the innovations, but it's a system designed to push the most aggresive and competent to the fore and I benefited from that system in the past so it's hard to carp on it now. I can't complain with the pay scale at this point. Well, that's work, I'm so getting ready to retire or do retail or move up to my farm. TP
