I bought a digital camera for my parents to take on a cruise. They did not like it very much and found it more difficult to use than a computer. But the sales desk at the place we bought it was swamped with customers -- and they were buying. BTW, the salesmen knew nothing, but people wanted to see and feel the cameras before they purchased. I checked out cameras on line for reviews etc but did not buy online -- there was no cost savings and no convenience factor.
