Mani, no need to make resolution public (unless for public consumption)...I hope you understand that discussion was not about Islam, as it was practiced in Mohammed times...but of today...It does not matter what Koran or Bible sez or does not say, that is untill people of today act upon it (Koresh or Bin Laden or Hamas or Saudi Gvn't)

Sure this stage of Islam (Islamic Civilization) development
would have to change its course just like Christianity has (not any time soon, to be relevant for our generation)...People will always have to deal with reality, not intentions..For you to say not just Islam, perhaps terrible deeds of French in Algeria or whatever...obscure the issue:
Terrorism as a product of Radical Islamic Movements is the major threat to the World today, that is 2002 and beyond...

Happy New Year

Long article - but it is an interesting take on how male Muslims have perverted the Koran from a protection of women into a weapon against women.

Hi Mani,

it's funny you should say that. Actually, I've resolved not to debate anymore about Islam, because in truth I'm no Islamic scholar and what I read doesn't seem to match the understanding that is required. In addition, it seems that debate on this topic just inflames one group of people to hate another and I don't want to be a part of that. I hope that what I've read is wrong and I hope that the opinions I have formed are wrong. I wish you all the best and hope you have a fulfilling and peaceful 2002!
