LTK, I looked more closely and it looks like there were significant runs off bottoms in April 2000 especially. From a low of about 1600 to 2200 in the Naz, with smaller runs (and falls) of 150-300 points in the other months mentioned. So, you're technically right, but there were significants rises and falls to take advantage of. In short, these months were volatile and worth trading.

APR- ditto
JUL - ditto
OCT - ditto>> APR JUL and OCT 2000 were all down in their last half---so i don't see any universal law at work here :) Max plus i think analysts estimates for 2nd quarter on are not conservative,imo.
