Carl, I can't think of one Radio or TV or National publication that openly endorses Atheism. For that matter, Atheism in the US is TABOO from public view. BTW Carl sometimes you get called all sorts of names when don't bow and salute the party right wing line here.

In regard to television. People are free to run just about anything they want on cable television. The reason you haven't seen an atheistic show is probably because there are so few atheists in the country who would be interested in viewing it. After all, polls show nearly 90% of Americans consider themselves to be christians. I suspect an even higher number believe in GOD. SI is a different ball of wax though. And if you continue posting on SI, take a look at the tone atheists immediately take toward those who believe in GOD when the subject comes up. Would you agree that tone was evident here recently? I agree, respect is a two way street and should be practiced as much as possible.

dear carlie, your post show rationale absent common sense. An atheist believes in "nothing" So there is no consequence or reward for a good life. Those who are vocal in promoting what they believe in religion are motivated by the fact that their belief is a gift and sharing that gift is an essential part of what they believe. An atheist surrounded by those who mostly believe just shuts up and goes along as why bother doing anything else. Well that is true at the highest level, but I have seen and heard atheist in many ways preaching what they believe.
