bambs, I agree with most of what you say, except price war.

Unlike a lot of folks here I am not an expert at chips or
chipmaking, or even at running a chip company. However,
I do believe that the Intel brass wouldn't want the stock
price to be where you are predicting it to be. That's not
how you reward your team, or yourself for that matter.

Tony, your point about DOJ is so on the mark. Intel cannot
really kill AMD without creating a significant hassel for
itself down the years. Not when the pols know there's
money in the tech. There will be no end to it's political
troubles.

I'd expect price war to ease, to provide a cushion against
the business cycle downturn we are in now. There will be
another time to hammer AMD.

Of course, time will tell.
