Eventually. Not soon. Probably not this year.

Current Symbian OS is v6.1 which supports GPRS but not CDMA. The Nokia 9210 Communicator uses v6.0 (no GPRS only HSCSD). The Nokia 7650 due in Q2 will be the first Nokia GPRS Symbian device.

I am assuming there will be a GPRS Communicator but don't know when (Europe or America). It is possible that the Nokia 9290 Communicator (the Americas version) will be v6.1 OS, but that is nor a certainty. It has not been announced as such and I have not heard of any US GSM GPRS networks supporting HSCSD.

Next Symbian OS (v6.2) will include support for CDMA & WCDMA, but the SDK is due till later this year, and we may not see phones based on it till early 2003.

"The Register" generally gets a pretty good handle on upcoming devices. They have referred to "Hurricane" as the codename" for the next version of the Symbian OS which I assume is v6.2. They are also talking about a Nokia device codenamed "Hilden:
