retail is one of the worst business to invest as a bull unless you get in in the growth phase. There are exceptions like Wall mart at HD but look at the huge retailers who at several points tetered at bankruptcy. SEARS, JCP, MACY"S. KMART, Bloomingdales etc. I think the best play is to buy the targets and short the FD of the world. I think Coach will suffer when economy turns. Wallets and bags wont be on the priority list when people are near bankruptcy. I like CAKE and I should have bought it when it dipped to 21. They have the best retail food concept since Starbucks, and they could open another 100 store and they would be full. The Mannagement is excellent, I know some who have worked for them. I think Starbucks is probably a better short as it gets closer to maturity. I also dont believe thei concept will work in Europe. However I thought the same about Mcdonalds so I could be wrong.
