"If your intellect is great enough to reject a Creator...
and to assert that the universe is about 12 billion years old..."

My "intellect" as you call it tells me nothing about what was before the universe....I simply don't know nor does anyone else including you. I accept the Big Bang theory simply because the universe is constantly expanding outward at a relatively constant rate of speed. Again I don't know nor does anyone else know who or what caused it. I am certain, in my own mind, that it was not a god who cares about spec of dust known as the planet Earth and particularly doesn't care about the people or animals living here nor their morals. So when you get back to the origins of the universe, I consider myself agnostic, but from your viewpoint of God, I feel comfortable being called an atheist.

The age of 12 billion years is roughly gotten from the expansion of the universe and back calculating to the point of explosion. Other data is gotten from meteorites and space exploraton

Good questions, and I have no answers. The other question I have is as follows: Where did the Creator come from?..In other words, how did all this get started?Did something create the Creator? I've always wrestled with this, and am curious what the answer is. Thanks...
