no way. J6P has no influence on the markets. he's along for the ride only. 95% of the daily volume on the NYSE is due to professional traders. most of the other 5% is from institutions. retail traders and J6P have no guns and no ammo

Au contraire. Small orders push price all over the place on the Naz. Professional traders provide liquidity while slowly making each other go bust. Institutions own most of the shares thus they support the market by soaking up supply (or dumping it into price runups by small speculators). Big money has been flowing into the DOW where it isn't doing much of anything to price, while the little guys are playing musical chairs running up Naz stocks leaving the pros mostly on the sidelines waiting for it all to collapse. Almost all the money in the Naz has been flowing into a hand full of issues. You can not use price as an indicator of where the money is going or know what people are doing. If you want to know what people are doing in the market or in a stock you have to cumulate moneyflow separated out by size, its the only way to know.
