Interesting! I don't doubt that plate techtonics had an effect on the climate of different regions. But I'm very skeptical it's the sole cause of the dramatic changes we've seen in the climate over certain areas of the world.

I'll do some more DD and get back to you though. I could be wrong. I'm certainly not a geologist or climatologist.

Let me make sure I understand your premise though. Are you opining we've only experienced slow gradual changes of climate throughout the history of the world. And rapid changes (relatively speaking) have never happened?
