Go to QCOM's web-site and go to Investor relations. qualcomm.com. Then click on "On-Line Events" and finally click on the analysts day this past November. There are some charts in the beginning that give various handset sales forecasts going out four years (2002-2005).

sorry, can't provide any insight there...though i will note in passing that NOK, for example, was predicting like 550-600 million handsets for 01 this time last year, and you'd think NOK would have a handle on the numbers if anybody does. so i wouldn't take anybody's predictions too seriously.
