To: LindyBill who wrote (15418 ) 1/3/2002 6:47:56 AM From: unclewest Read Replies (2) | Respond to of 281500 LB, Happy New Year...has the rainy started interrupting your bird watching on waikiki beach yet? thanks for posting that safire bit ahead of my predictions. i spent new year's eve at ft bragg. learned a coupla things that i am comfortable pointing out. the Special Forces lock-in continues. no SF guys are being discharged or retired. recruiting for SF "A" teams is accelerating. lots of volunteers available and slots are being opened up as new teams are created. increases in instructor strength is quite necessary for SF schools and recruiting retired SFers for that purpose is about to increase. the infrastructure build-up, recruiting key retired leaders, letting of necessary contracts etc, is underway. not solid yet...but the word is out and the contracts are being bid. as soon as the money is approved, i expect this program will be able to hit the ground running hard. it appears to me at present we have less than one SF Group deployed in afghani....elements of the 5th SFGA are there and probably some DELTA at times. makes me wonder where the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 8th and 10th SF Groups are and what they are doing. the current lock-in coupled with the recent call-up of SF reserves and national guardsmen, and the SF recruiting push makes me believe that there is a lot more going on or about to go on that we do not know about. we are seeing but the tip of an iceberg. our entire armed forces are either in afghani or training hard. there have to be bigger deals coming. i wonder too about our home grown orgs like farrakhan...they sure have become quiet...is it the lull before the storm? farrakhan is tied financially to khaddafi...khaddafi gave him 5 million in the mid 80s and offered $1 billion to farrakhan around 96...that money was blocked by the treasury department or was it? can there be any good in farrakhan ties to libya? why was farrakhan there again recently? here is one list of possible active US terror groups:United States Armed Commandos for National Liberation Active; low level United States Armed Forces of National Liberation FALN [Fuerzas Armadas de Liberacion Nacional] Active; low level United States Armed Forces of Popular Resistance Active; low level United States Army of God Active United States Aryan Nations AN Active United States Guerrilla Forces of Liberation Active; low level United States Los Macheteros [Los Macheteros] Active; low level United States Militia Groups Active United States Mountaineer Militia Active United States Organization of Volunteers for the Puerto Rican Revolution Active; low level United States People's Revolutionary Commandos Active; low level "The woods are lovely, dark and deep, and we have miles to go before we sleep." unclewest
