You're a pretty good example of the ignorance of arrogance yourself, Zolty. Friedman is a sensible centrist. You seem to have fallen off the deep end.

Greenspan, bond traders, the corporate elite, and business cycles have far more to do with the economic conditions than either Clinton or Bush. But Bush will be holding the bag when the average guy realizes how he got stung by the hangover from the greedy and arrogant (repooblican) elite who exacerbated the situation, grabbing whatever they could get from the stock options supermoney and corridors of power. Think Ken Lay, GW's good buddy. The proof will come in the next presidential elections. I'm interested in 2004, not today's fleeting, desperate need to feel good as the world becomes more uncertain and volatile to the average clueless voter. When the repoobs wake up, this will be their greatest fear too. Who needs social security or a pension anyway ?

I'm glad you're so sure that there are no explodable suitcase bombs with active triggers. You must have a direct pipeline to Lebed or the Mossad. Please share your top secret knowledge with us. Active bomb or dirty, who cares ? An awful scenario either way.

If taxes get raised, it will only be to pay for the new, new Repooblican deficits. Deja vu all over again. shrub's in office, what, nine months and we have a deficit again already ?!?!?

Figures that you'd like Nixon. Good grief.

The 90s will be remembered a lot more fondly than this mess that shrubby's getting us into. But some will need the rear view mirror to understand that.

Bush is a hobbled, sort-of president, impotent on domestic matters since Daschle brought some balanced governance to Washington.

Hurry, hurry, now don't miss the Rush Limbaugh show !
