John, Go goats almost sounds like you are rooting for a team. I know that the high school in the comic strip, Funky Winkerbean, has the nickname, Scapegoats. <g>

Transgenics is cruising along. I noticed that a lab in Blackburn, Virginia, where VA. Tech is located, has developed pigs to use for human organ transplants. They were engineered without the gene that causes them to be rejected by the human immune system.

I still have questions on the pigs. One is, how long do pigs live? I know that it is much longer if everyone around them keeps kosher. <g> I don't know what kind of warranty their organs carry. But however long it is, it is longer than a human lives when they are dying from a failing organ.

There was a study in The New England Medical Journal about how the heart has the power to repair and regenerate itself, though they only know it can. They don't know how or what you have to do to encourage it yet. What they found was that males transplanted with female hearts were turning up with Y chromosones in their heart tissue a few months after transplant. The fact that they discovered this on a guy who died discourages me a bit, though.

Man, we're going to live forever. You think Social Security is broke now. <g>
