Yeah, is your SF veteran's chapter grousing the standards will be lowered? I have heard they went though a period of lowered standards and "ticket punching" years back. Any comments?

LB,
the standards are at an all time high right now. i do expect they will be lowered...but there is lots of room to do so. everyone recognizes that we can increase recruiting and still have awesome teams.

certain important key standards will never be relaxed. you will probably see a relaxing of the E5 or higher or captain or higher...possibly a few others but GT (IQ), fitness level, picket fence medical profile, and proven ability in training will not be compromised.

SF schools have no quota or mandatory graduation rate...it is not out of the question for an entire class to flunk out.

once on a team...periodic mandatory skill testing and battlefield ability will determine whether an individual stays or goes.

there is no more dropping in for a single tour and going back to your old job. SF is now a service branch and career path of its own. once in you give up your old specialty. to get out you quit or resign...both would be difficult for any officer's career. dropping out during training can be done without prejudice.
