Ten - Re: "I thought all major OEMs were going to follow in Dell's footsteps and drop Itanium-based workstations from their high-end lines, no? So said the AMDroids, including your beloved Mani:"

I guess they were wrong.

The big difference, it seems, is HP-UX - HP has their own UNIX OS for the ITanium workstations - and Dell must have relied on Microsoft or Linux.

Tenchusatsu,<<<I thought all major OEMs were going to follow in Dell's footsteps and drop Itanium-based workstations from their high-end lines, no? >>>

It will be quite some time before Dell can get into the high-end server market. They have their hands full supporting sales and service of digital cameras, PC printers, and other electronic knick knacks.

High end servers? Enterprise Servers? Stop. You are making me laugh. You are killing me. Please stop.
