here's the full report: dol.gov the last two reports have smoothed out about 350,000 jobless claims due to their seasonal adjustments. unemployment report does the same. recall seeing the unadjusted unemployment rate jump 1.3 percentage points with the headline unemployment hardly moving at all. both reports will catch up later to the unadjusted numbers unless there is a strong improvement in hiring very soon.
