Yes, saw that report, glad you posted it. re: perv free pigs....I was taking a perhaps unwarranted leap of 'faith' that perhaps they could knock out the virus set one day. ---- "What we have done is we have knocked out the gene which codes for an enzyme" "A set of AIDS-like viruses called porcine endogenous retroviruses, or PERVS, are incorporated into the pig’s genome and cannot be bred out." ====== My Leap..perhaps they can 'knock out' the PERV portion of the genome that they cannot 'breed out'..one day.
