Some ironies...

Yesterday I got to thinking about the military Clinton left behind that is winning the Afghanistan war. I decided to ask someone who got out of the Navy May 2001 after ten years' service what he thought of Clinton. The military, he told me, did not like Clinton because "he did not give us pay raises and cut back on benefits." ...like we'd expect a Republican president would have done.

I like Rudy very much. I have my Time Man of the Year 2001 magazine safely put away... However, last night I spoke to a New York friend who told me that just before ending his term, Mayor Giuliani gave top police officials huge increases in salary and benefits that are going to cost NYC a fortune and also committed NYC to paying for new baseball stadiums, as well as leaving a $5 billion budget deficit for Bloomberg. ...the kind of mess Dems get blamed for...hmmm.
