Peter and RCM, I too have been following the very impressive Yahoo thread on IGEN. I've had nothing to add except that I don't find the reluctance to settle so amazing. My interpretation is that they know they are going to lose big time; as they should. But it will be easier for them with their shareholders if they can paint their loss as "just another of the those crazy outcomes from the system that awards millions for someone hurt by hot coffee." By the way, some have been assuming taxes in calculating awards. My understanding is that jury awards are not taxed. IS this so? Ashley
