News from Briefing.com: 8:34PM Micron Tech (MU) 36.51 +3.27: -- Update -- According to Dow Jones, the Korea Daily News is reporting that Micron will buy Hynix Semi's DRAM business for $4-5 bln and invest in its non-DRAM operations, with an agreement to be signed by the end of January.

Micron will potential give up 1/4 of their market cap to buy Hynix's business. I do not know how far Hynix trails Micron in chips production but if this is received well it could be further catalyst for the SOX to rise.
