You guys just can't stand it, can you?

That's right, can't stand moronic analysts. Robertson Stephens report of an upcoming 2 GHz Athlon was as ludicrous as someone saying a 1.5 GHz Itanium was coming out next week.

Maybe they wouldn't have done it the way they did if I hadn't written them.

Maybe I'm personally responsible (in part, at least) for Intel's having such a tough time breaking even these days, and you guys all being so miserable.

Yeah sure, like I recommended to Intel that they call it the Pentium instead of the 586 ten years ago.

Dan, Re: "Intel starts shipping the total fraud P4, with performance that barely matches any other chip with a clock 3/4 as high, and you all eat it up."

Nothing is wrong with that, as long as it can clock 4/3 as fast as it's nearest competitor. Do you still have a problem understanding that performance = clock frequency TIMES IPC? Of course, we both know that this will not work in the future, if AMD improves their IPC further, so Intel will have to work on that, too. I see no reason why they wouldn't. Do you?
