Alan:

In High School, I used a "Living Bible," which is not something that I read today.

I have owned a "NIV Study Bible," since 1985. The funny thing is that I was house-sitting and the people had a dog that was afraid of storms! There was a terrible storm and that dog ate my Bible! I had tons of notes in it!! I was able to salvage some of the notes, when I got a replacement.

I own several Bible, but I am attached to my "NIV Study Bible." It's my favorite, but that is where I have tons of notes. It is probably the most popular! The King James, and the new King James, New American Standard Bible, NASB Study Bible, are also popular! That is why I have several Bibles. I hope that answers your question, but I will read any of my Bibles. What do you have?
