Well, I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Things are always worst before it's over. That's what's happening now. There are already signs that things are turning around. It's starting in the manufacturing sector and will spread, barring any world-shattering events. But this up cycle, I think will be shorter (maybe enough to get Bush elected again) and then the ensuing downcycle could be longer and worse than this one. We still have a hangover that we need to go through, that was averted only because of massive gov't intervention. So I'd say we'll get that hangover at the start of Bush's next term in office.

Try Silicon Valley if you want slowdown. It's slow and getting slower everyday.

Software is fundamentally recovering in silicon valley. Sebl has hiring plans and a few others (beas, webm). Telecom doesn't paint the optimistic picture this time around (not like in the past).
