I was under the impression we blew through the Y2k levels weeks ago...and I believe the LTCM infusion also. I would love to know also if someone has the data, I think I read the Y2k comparison on SI, it may be searchable.

That timeframe there were many events that drove up the market including LTCM, Y2K, telecom/CLEC, internet, wireless. Now you don't have all that except Fed propping up the market and waiting for corporate profits to recover. With no increasing in capital spending especially in IT areas, it will be hard to justify the current valuation of these tech companies. I'm still looking for real catalysts to drive up the market instead of cash coming in from sideline. It's like saying there are many suckers sitting out and want to get in.
