Gore could only be explained as "partisan" meddling... I made no such claim...I even told you I didn't find the topic of interest. Is that tooooo complex? You want to get into your 1st grade level poll analysis of the pre and post USSC decision? Keep in mind that you dudes like the Fox News analysis, not realizing how much Fox has dumbed down to it's audience...dumbed down audience = conservatives. A comparison of the two surveys indicates that Americans overall showed little change in their confidence in the U.S. Supreme Court following its controversial ruling in Bush v. Gore. The Gallup poll conducted Dec. 15-17, 2000, showed that 49% of Americans had either "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in the U.S. Supreme Court, which changed little from the 47% with similar levels of confidence registered during a June 22-25, 2000 poll. [This is where you morons stop] But, this surface stability masked significant change in the way Republicans and Democrats view the Supreme Court. Those who identify as Democrats showed a slight drop in confidence in the Supreme Court between June and December, from 44% with "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence during June, to 40% during December. Independents also showed a very slight loss of faith in the Supreme Court as well, from 48% to 45%. Republicans, however, showed a large increase in confidence, from 48% during June to 67% during the days following the Supreme Court’s decision in Bush v. Gore. In short, views of the nation’s highest court became more politicized – at least in the short term – during the time period in which the court made the highly controversial decision that gave George W. Bush the presidency. What else do we learn for the polls? Democrats and Independents are fairly unaffected in their opinion of the Supreme Court based on a single decision while the Republican's overall view of the Supreme Court can be greatly impacted by a single decision. Simple put, Republicans are highly partisan. No news there. jttmab
