Mullah Omar Escapes South Afghan Province

dailynews.yahoo.com

KABUL (Reuters) - Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has escaped the southern Afghan province of Helmand and disappeared, said a local official in his former powerbase of Kandahar. ``We know from our intelligence that Mullah Omar is not in Baghran, and not in Helmand province,'' said the official in the office of Kandahar intelligence chief Haji Gullalai, who declined to be identified.

``I don't know where Mullah Omar is now,'' he said.

Tribal elders and U.S. forces had believed Mullah Omar had taken refuge in the mountainous Baghran area, in a northern corner of southern Helmand province, after he surrendered Kandahar on December 7.

Fourteen LDC (least developed countries ) offer Bin Laden temporary residence.
The countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Republic of the Congo. Zimbawe, Zambia, Nigeria, and Israel have offered temp residence to Bin Laden.

Here's why.... when the Americans think that Bin Laden is in your country, they bomb the hell out of some little used airports, drop food supplies to the local natives, forgive the debt of neighboring countries, offer huge amounts of aid to make sure that Bin Laden does not come back, help rebuilds your infrastructure, American Politicians and news reporters spend huge amounts in your country (not as good as tourists, but what the hey). And lastly your local political leaders get a free trip to meet with Bush and Cheney. Not to mention the free lunch.

The second part of the conference dealt with how to keep Bin Laden alive so that he could be used in another country a few months latter.

This is a win win situation for those LDC's and the Republican Administration. If Bush can keep Bin Laden alive for another three years along with his war on terrorism, his re-election is guaranteed. He won't even miss his Enron stock.

Hey, Americans don't like Foreign Aid, but they will spend their last dime to fight the terrorists.

This memo has to go to the State Department....planning is everything.
