I am just glad to provide a little support to the thread.

Many of "you" and so many others contribute so much of their own ideas on the thread it prompts me to contribute. As I work within the industry, I try not to make a personal point or position. So I providing news article while tring to remain neutral.

Good luck.

Stan

Gottfied,>It seems like just yesterday we were warned away from tech stocks. :)< Same story as in the last cycles but only a different time period.

Check the price ranges for the '96 and '98 cycles. In January '97 the price range was at $34.6875 - 49.625 with a IBD RS between 65-94 and Jan '99 was $42.875 -64.0625 with a IBD RS between 94-96. Currently, the AMAT price and RS numbers are within the above past numbers. Now compare the PE's during those times.

The next few weeks will be very interesting for AMAT. Personally, based on past cycles I would be afraid to short AMAT at this time. AMAT post splits in '96 was $108 in August and in '00 was $230 in April.

Just my opinions.

Paul
