Put/Call seems to be the only confirming figure (today, anyway) -- I see it at .34 this morning so far. COTs should be interesting (yet again) today.

10:02 ET Economic Data : The ISM non-manufacturing index rose to 54.2% in December from 51.3% in November; this was better than the 50.0% consensus and is yet another report suggesting that the economy was on the mend in December.

What I think we are seeing in the economy....are the first indications of the weak recovery we are going to get....I think where most talking heads are wrong...is that they think the next few months will be the beginning of the recovery, when, in fact, it will be THE recovery...

I expect that in Feb-April frame...the lack of a 2nd half recovery will begin to get discounted...

As far as market, all that funny money is helping support things, IMO, plus the "powers that be" have a vested interest to make last Sept's bottom stick (as long as possible), and to make this weekly breakout close stick...and now that the WS BS machine is cranking up again (did you see the 3PM Micron call yesterday, saving the close?), I am thinking that we could have a "C" to go along with (my crazy idea) that late Sept-early Nov was a "A"...2400-2500 possible?

All this, if the weekly charts hold today (and don't breakdown early next week)..I am noticing that the semis don't have a ton of strength here...so 2065 COMPX may not even hold today (and then I am back in double top mode)..

Allan: Re: "I hear ya, but look at Rydex -- bears are not running for cover over there."

Maybe because NDX is lagging the Comp. BPNDX has already rolled over.
