Good catch on the NASDAQ vs NDX divergence. It could be as you said due to the Biotechs etc but I would also throw out how the Russell has outperformed this year.

The small caps led the 1998 market drop while teh big boys inflated the indexes to mask the selling and now the smaller stocks are behaving better than the large caps. The NASDAQ could be showing the effects of the smaller issues performing better than the bloated favorite Mo Mo stocks.

Why buy a 700 PE stock with no earnings and more mature thus less likely to have huge forward growth when you can buy a lower PE stock that is still growing and if they do find a good niche market that might threaten one of the leaders, the worst that can happen is they will get bought out at a premium by one of the big boys? Where would you rather have your money? -ggg-

Some of my darn dividend stocks are running up hard and I am going to have to bail here soon before I get my dividends paid out if they keep going. Most are hitting resistance areas and I would rather lock in the profits than risk losing them just to cash in on my payouts. Decisions ... decisions. -g-

Good Luck,

Lee
