No, I was talking about Polagra, aka Butterfly Rash. It's caused by a diet of corn mush with no vegetables or meat that poor Southern farmers used to eat; I forget exactly what the essential nutritive element was, but it must be in both vegetables and meat.

Rickets is caused by a lack of Vitamin D, either from sunshine or vegetables.

The British Navy used lime juice in grog to prevent scurvy, which is caused by a lack of Vitamin C.
