"Why not contribute to the cause and by the stock instead of just hyping it to everyone else?"

At some point I'll buy the stock but at the moment my perception is that AMD is wayyyy undervalued and long call options will provide a significantly higher return if my evaluation proves to be accurate...Those $20 jan 2003's look like a fantastic bullish play on AMD for this year so I'll just keep accumulating with any surplus should such arise from short term option plays...

Buying calls help the stock:

1. in dividend-less company it permit holder to have some revenue by selling those calls.

2. Specialist that sell those calls have to edge by buying the stock.

"Contribute to the Cause!!!"

The notion that there is a "cause" which should be "contributed to" is what makes Droids so silly.

In any case, derivatives are every bit as real as the underlying instruments. That is, buying and selling futures (puts or calls) is every bit as important as buying or selling the underlying stocks.

Me, I don't buy or sell either stocks or derivatives so as to "contribute to the cause." I buy or sell based on expectations for future performance. I even bought some AMD a while back. And I have bought and sold CALLs on Intel and other stocks.
