Edward White thinks earning will continue to come in low. Chip companies will cut capex spending. He is concerned with Semi Equip and March bookings. He thinks AMAT to come in worse than projected. AMAT will be pushed/pushing by/with lawsuits due to technology.

He says NVLS will need to continue to cut cost, and will continue to loss money. Copper to help NVLS.

He like KLAC, saying FAB upgrades will help KLAC. Is well positioned for a upturn.

He like CYMI.

There is over capacity in older technology 8”, but upgrades for technology will be needed “only”.

CapEx spending will down 30% 2002.

After lessoning he is speaking very general.

Long term, things are moving up for the chip guys, SemiEquips will have problems for the next several months.

Asked about shorting AMAT, “it is interesting to look at”, but thing could change quickly.

Equips should look better later in the year for buying opportunity.

Good luck.
