Actually, people pay to do it all the time. When I worked in Ocean City as a teenager, I met people from Quebec, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and all manner of places in between. Annapolis rivals Newport as the sailing capital of the East Coast, and people travel hundreds of miles to visit its boat shows. Baltimore is one of the most popular convention cities in the country. And, with all due respect to your father, such a comment about Hopkins is nonsensical......
