I would buy a Honda Accord without any hesitation.

Over the years in the past, we and our extended family had purchased at least 15 Honda Accords, all with complete satisfaction and most of us seemed to never look elsewhere again.

Some of us graduated/branched into the Acura line, naturally.

Own the Honda VP 2001 model.

As good a put together car as I have ever driven, even when compared to much more expensive cars. Test drove an EX with the 200 hp, but the sales dood wouldn't come down to $500 over invoice so I left.

All in all, I'm WAY satisfied. Much better handling than Toyota, the 200 hp is as zippy as a Maxima, WAY cheaper than a comparably equipped Passat. Drive the 200 hp and the VP with a 135 hp and see if you really need the juice. You'll be surprised unless you do alot of highway driving.

Honda dealers are a pain in the arse to negotiate with, so make sure you know what you're paying for. They'll tell you anything to get an extra $50 bucks out of your wallet, the bastards.

Oh...some schmo rear-ended us about a month after I bot it. Damage was mucho expensive to repair, even though it looked minor. Can't tell the repair work from new.

Good Luck!!!
